We don’t have a shop in Canmore, but Bow Valley drivers come to our Calgary shops for 3M window tint. It’s about an hour’s drive in on the Trans-Canada, and it’s easy to combine with a day of errands in the city.

Subaru WRX in 3M Crystalline, for a customer from Canmore.
A recent Canmore job
The Subaru WRX above belongs to a customer from Canmore. We tinted it with 3M Crystalline, which keeps out the most heat of the three 3M films while staying light. It’s a good choice for mountain driving because it cuts heat and glare without making the windows look dark, so you still get a clear view out.
Why tint for mountain driving
Drivers in the Bow Valley deal with strong sun in summer and bright snow glare in winter. Window film helps with both. All three 3M films block UV, which protects your skin and keeps the dash and seats from fading. They also cut the glare coming through the side and rear glass.
If heat is your main concern, a ceramic or multilayer film does the most. If you mainly want privacy for gear in the back, any of the three films will do it.
The films we install
- 3M Colour Stable is a carbon film that keeps its colour instead of fading to purple. It’s the lowest-priced choice for privacy and glare control.
- 3M Ceramic IR keeps out a lot more heat than carbon film and comes in dark shades.
- 3M Crystalline is 3M’s top film. It keeps out the most heat while staying light.
Our guide to tint types explains how they differ.

Alberta tint law
The same provincial rules apply in Canmore as in Calgary. On a vehicle driven on public roads, you can tint the rear side windows and the back glass any darkness, as long as you have outside mirrors on both sides. The windshield and the front side windows can’t have any film, including clear film, unless you hold a medical exemption permit. Read our Alberta tint law guide for the full rules.
Our two shops
Both shops have the same films and prices. Pick whichever is easier for your trip into the city. They’re open Monday to Friday 8 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 2.
